    CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: Admitted to Roxbury church as member #89: Thomas Wilson he arrived in N.E. in the 4th month anno 1633. He brought 3 children: Humfrey, Samuel, Joshua. Deborah born in the 6th month 1634. Lidea born in the 9th month 1636. He had his house & all his substance consumed with fire to his great impoverishing, himself being from home, [blank] He was a very weak man, yet was he out of affection to the persons of some, led aside into error, schism, & very proud & contemptuous carriage for which he was cast out of the church, & he went away with Mr. Wheeleright. But the Lord awakened his heart, so that after [blank] years he returned & repented, & was reconciled to the church; and recommended to the church of Christ at [blank] [RChR 79]. 12 June 1642: Thos. Wilson who had been excommunicated, received again into the Church & recommended to Church at Hampton" [RChR 187].

    10 Thomas (Wilson), miller, Exeter, seems br. of Edward, miller, the testator of 1638 (N. E. Reg. 7: 30; Lechford's Note Book, 10-13). Roxbury 1633, freeman 14 May 1634, and as a Wheelwright follower left Roxb. Ch. for Exeter, later making peace with Roxbury. He built the first gristmill at Ex., his gr. described as the 'creek or water course at the higher falls, also the little island by the falls on which his ho. and mill stand.' Chosen 'Ruler' 20 Oct. 1642. … Will, 9 Jan.-18 Feb. 1642-3, names w. (Ann), 5 ch., and commends them to churches of Roxb., Hampt. or Ex., or wherever their lot fell. A dispute betw. the oldest son and the wid. was referred by Boston ct. to Ipsw. ct. 7 Mar. 1643-4. She m. 2d John Legate(1). Ch: Humphrey, his mo. poss. an earlier wife. Samuel and Joshua, both under 21 in 1643. Deborah, b. at Roxb. Aug. 1634; her mo. deeded cattle to Anthony Stanyan for her benefit; m. John Warren(6). Lydia, b. Nov. 1636.
