    29 Apr 1806 Notice by Elijah Whitney that father Thomas Whitney has deceased and declining to administer estate. Addendum by Ann Whitney that she cannot administer on her late husband's estate and desires son Jonah Whitney be appointed.
    6 May 1806: Bond of Jonah Whitney yeoman of Westborough as administrator of Thomas Whitney late of Westborough deceased.
    27 May 1806: Inventory of Thomas Whitney late of Westborough by Nathan Fisher, Isaac Forbush, Luther Maynard: real: $1238; personal: $397.7 plus several notes to various children totaling $310.49 plus interest.
    1 Jul 1806: Account of Jonah Whitney allowed. Includes charge for "taking care of my Hon'd Father Thomas Whitney when bereaved of the use of his reason from the 15 of Sept 1803 to April 25th 1806 being to the day of his Death". Distribution one third to widow, and residue to seven children in equal shares.
    3 May 1813: Return of commission to appraise real estate, "finding the homestead farm of Thomas Whitney late of Westborough in said County, deceased, was owned in common by & between the said Thomas, & his son Jonah Whitney deceased, the whole farm containing eighty acres", "there are seven children & legal representatives of deceased children", Jonah Whitney in his lifetime purchased the whole share of his brother John Whitney; & also of his brother Timothy Whitney excepting his share of the widow's dower, so small parcel to children of said Timothy he being deceased, to heirs of Jonah Whitney. Remaining four shares will not admit of division and none of four heirs (listed as Elijah Whitney, Jonas Hemmenway & Sarah his wife, Silas Wheelock & Anna his wife, Benjamin Bowman & Lucy his wife) will consent to take the whole.
