  6. Descendants of Joseph Bartlett gives the death location as Cambridge, but no death record is listed in Cambridge VRs. Newton VRs do have a death record, but cites a local diary, which is more an indication of Thomas' acquaintance with the author than of his death happening in Newton. However, Newton still seems most likely based on the fact that several children lived there and his widow eventually died there.
  7.   Source:Thwing, Edward Payson. A Memorial of Thomas Thwing, p. 49, quotes a letter by the great-grandson of this Thomas saying the father of this Thomas was Nathaniel. The letter-writer is Thomas b. 1792, s/o Nicholas, s/o John, s/o Thomas here. I can find no evidence of a Nathaniel Thwing born early enough to be the father of Thomas b. 1709 (earliest found was b. 1703, but would need to be born abt. 1688 or before to be the father of this Thomas). Since the letter-writer wasn't born until nearly 20 after this Thomas died, and since he admits very limited time to research the older branches of his family, as well as making apparent other errors in recounting the early generations (I find no record of James Thwing b. 1664), this probably must be discounted.
