He did very little outdoor work for Pynchon, except occasionally in harvesting. … He was one of the witnesses to the Indian deed, dated September 24, 1653, conveying the land of Nonotuck (now Northampton, Mass.) to John Pynchon of Springfield. … The name of 'Thomas Stebins, Springfield' appears in 'A List of ye Soldiers yt were in
