Thomas Safford, Jr., s/o Thomas Safford and Sarah Kettell, bp. Dedham 24 Aug 1766, m. (1) Elizabeth Stetson, m. (2) 1819 Anna Brigham.
[There can be no doubt that Thomas's first wife was named Elizabeth. Their first child seems to be son Thomas b. 1795 in Lancaster? Crane thinks it is Elizabeth Stetson, d/o Ebenezer, because Ebenezer's will names the children. No details are given, such as the year of the will or which Ebenezer Stetson he is talking about. No such Elizabeth is found in Source:Barry, John Stetson. Genealogical and Biographical Sketch of the Name and Family of Stetson. There is a marriage in Charlestown in 1791 of Thomas Safford to Elizabeth Fosdick, and Thomas's son George named his son George Fosdick Safford, so might this be Thomas' first marriage?]
