Thomas Dandy Pocklington was baptised on 9th January 1775 at Sutterton in Lincolnshire, son of Sarah Pocklington, formerly Dandy, and her husband William Pocklington, who had married the previous August at Freiston. After Thomas's birth the family appears to have moved several times around the fenland area to the west of the town of Boston, with Thomas's younger siblings being baptised variously at Wigtoft, Coningsby and back at Sutterton. Two of his siblings' baptism records from Coningsby record the family's abode more precisely as Dogdyke in 1786 the neighbouring hamlet of Chapel Hill in 1792.
On 2nd May 1802, aged 27, Thomas married Ann Turner at nearby Heckington. Thomas was described as a widower at the time, although the details of his first marriage have yet to be established. Thomas and Ann went on to have one son, John, baptised at Heckington the following year. John's baptism record describes Thomas as a joiner.
Ann died in 1832, in Heckington, aged 60.
The 1841 census finds Thomas living on West Street in Boston in the same house as his younger brother Henry and his family. Thomas was still working as a joiner.
Thomas later returned to Heckington, where he died on 20th November 1847, aged about 73.

Baptized at Sutterton / From Lady Day 1774 to Lady Day 1775 / January 9 / Thomas Dandy the Son of William and Sarah Pocklington
This baptism has been linked to the Thomas Pocklington who married Ann Turner on the basis that the baptism of their son in 1803 described Thomas as a joiner which therefore fits with the Thomas Packlington who was a joiner living in Boston in 1841. He was living in the same house as a Henry Packlington, who in the 1851 census gave his place of birth as Sutterton. There was a Henry Pocklington son of William and Sarah baptised at Sutterton on 11th August 1799, who would therefore appear to be the younger brother of this Thomas.
