  5. 5.0 5.1 No conclusive resolution of the two death dates has been found. Secondary sources can be found that give each of them. No evidence of a second Thomas Patch to explain the two dates has been found. The birth of the son Daniel that identifies the father as deceased seems to suggest the 1753 date is correct, and although the gravestone looks authentic, it is so well-cared for, it does look like it could have been erected after the fact. The age at death seems to be 40 in both cases, which based on a birth 15 Apr 1713, would appear to recommend 1753 as well.
