"THOMAS, Charlestown 1634, freem. 4 Mar. 1635, rep. 1636, 7, 46, and sev. yrs. more, selectman 14 yrs. and a deac. d. 30 Dec. 1671, in 77th yr. By first w. he had Thomas, b. in Eng. where prob. she d.; and Mary, wh. prob. was brot. over in 1635, by John Winthrop jr. in the Abigail, then aged 6 yrs.; beside six others, wh. d. bef. him, one being Henry, wh. d. 9 Apr. 1646; and by sec. w. Margaret, wid. of Thomas Jordan, and d. of John Martin, had Joseph, b. 3, bapt. 5 June 1636; Sarah, bapt. 14 Apr. 1639; Hannah, 2, bapt. 8 May 1642; William; and Samuel, 14 Oct. 1644. This w. d. 3 Aug. 1662, and he m. 6 Dec. 1665, Rebecca, wid. of capt. Nicholas Trerice, wh. long outliv. him, and d. 8 Dec. 1688. His will, made only ten days bef. he d. with a codic. of a single day bef. ment. w. Rebecca, s. Joseph, Samuel, and Thomas, s.-in-law Robert Pierpont, ds. Hannah Trerice, and Mary Wicks of Succonessett. The inv. was of good amount. Mary m. a Wicks; Hannah m. 1663, John Trerice; and Sarah m. 18 Feb. 1657, Robert Pierpont of Roxbury."

Yeoman [Aspinwall 119; MLR 3:288, 370, 4:26, 5:346, 6:27]. CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: On 4 February 1634/5, "Thomas Lynde, and Margerite his wife, were admitted" to Charlestown church [ChChR 8]. Deacon of Charlestown church as early as 30 Septembe 1652 [ChBOP 136]. FREEMAN: 4 March 1634/5 (fifth in a sequence of five Charlestown men) [MBCR 1:370].
