- ↑ The middle name "Standford" does not appear in full on any of the sources transcribed on this page, although the 1861 census does describe Thomas as "Thomas S. Lewis". Instead the middle name comes from the marriage record of Thomas's son George, who gave his father's name as Thomas Standford Lewis when he married in Northampton in 1850.
