He is mentioned in the will of his uncle Samuel, and since the only known brothers of Samuel were John and Oziell (Oziell assumed to be the brother who drowned with their father before Aug 1657), it is assumed he was the son of John. However, he is not mentioned in John's will. He may have been an illegitimate son (John was a bachelor when he married in 1671), or possibly a posthumous one.
