Thomas was b. abt. 1658; res. E., carpenter. Held rank of Lieutenant and later Captain (1691) in town militia. He rem. to Bristol, R. I., about 1685 but returned to the Vineyard 1689&SHY;91 where he d. 25 Aug. 1726. "He was a peaceable man and well inclined and of good understanding," wrote Parson Homes. His will dated 8 July 1726 was pro. Oct. 1726. <He married at Bristol, R.I., ELIZABETH HAWES 22 Jan. 1683-4, dau. of John Hawes and Desire Gorham of Yarmouth, Mass.
