Thomas Cox was baptised on 14th December 1772 at Collyweston in Northamptonshire, son of Mary Cox, formerly Brown, and her husband John Cox, a blacksmith. Thomas has yet to be traced for certain after his baptism. It is quite likely that he was the Thomas Cox who married Catherine Newborn at Barnack in 1798, but not certain.
