Brown, Thomas C. - entered service 1778 in Hampshire County, Virginia, where born 8/1761; moved to Floyd County, Kentucky, abt. 1827 where granted Pension in 1832 & granted Bounty Land Warrant in 1855; soldier died there 4/17-19/1857; married there 12/15/1831 to Mary Brown; widow granted Pension abt. age 50 there in 1857, & resided there in 1877, P.O. Prestonburg, Kentucky; query letter in file states that soldier's middle name was Cowan. R379.
