Thomas Brown may have been born in Cardiganshire, Wales but I suspect that he was a s/o George Brown b. ca 1706, Millcreek Twp., New Castle Co., DE and Mary Jones b. ca 1710, Pencador Twp., New Castle Co., DE. Thomas md. ca 1754, Mary ??? (1734-1816); issue: Hannah, Mary, Sarah, Daniel, Rachel, George, William, Joseph, Rebekah, John and Annie Brown.

Thomas Brown is credited with serving in the Rev. War by the DAR but likely he gave supplies to the American Forces and did not actively serve as no record exists of his service. There is much confusion on this family

Their first child Hannah did not marry Mr. Penny - this is a myth that has been circulating for many years and Mary w/o Thomas Brown was not a Ball!
