    'THOMAS [Bolles], b. 1 Dec., 1644, son of Joseph Bolles and Mary Howell; ... then married [3rd wife] Hopestill Chappell, widow of Nathaniel, and died without issue [from his third marriage]. Thomas Bolles was induced by Gov. John Winthrop to remove from Wells, Maine, to New London, soon after he reached manhood. ... He died at New London 26 May, 1727.'
