Hello let me introduce you to my grandfather Thomas Birkbeck born in England [Indiana marriage records show him born in 1872 english records show the only Thomas Birkbeck married to a M.Jane Crawford having a son Thomas born in 1866]. Tom's first wife [as yet unknown] died in 1905. He was naturalized in Parke county, Indiana in 1901 [at least that's where the records are being stored].

Thomas, better known as Tom, was a coal miner and he wrote music and sang like an angel [family legend] with a band called Rawhide Nevada or Roy Hyde Nevada in the early 1900's. [Anybody ever heard of this group??] Tom met and married my grandmother [Ida Jones 15 May 1889] in 1913 in Vigo CO, Indiana USA, they had one child Henry Birkbeck 07 March 1914 in Indiana. I come to a blank after they married until the 1930 census when grandmother is a widow doing laundry and sewing to support my father Henry in Clinton Indiana [age 16].

Grandfather died in or around 1928 [black lung?]. He came from a coal mining family as did grandmother's family from Wales to Pennsylvania [where great grandfather Issac Jones was born to Benj and Catherine Jones in 1852]. Issac migrated to Indiana to work as a mule runner in the coal mines.

Whatever grandmother did from 1930 till the 1950's when my sister and I were born is out of my reach right now since every one has passed except a couple of 3rd cousins who don't like these new fangled machines and will have no part of them and being on disability myself this is my life, thank you very much.

Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
