    Will of "Thomas Axtell of Marlborough ... being Advanced in Years", dated 24 Nov 1749, proved 2 Jan'y 1750[/51], names two sons Joseph Axtell and Thomas Axtell, daughter Sarah Hayden the wife of Josiah Hayden of Marlborough, daughter Abigail Pratt the Wife of Benj'a Pratt, grandson Gershom Drury the son of my Daughter Hannah Drury [under 21]. Edward Baker of Westborough to be executor. Codicil dated 13 Dec 1749, mentions eldest son Joseph Axtel.
    27 Dec 1750: Assent of heirs, Benjamin Pratt for self & wife Abigail, Joseph Axtell, Thomas Axtell, Josiah Hayden for self & wife Sarah, to proving of will.
    27 Dec 1750: Edw'd Baker refused to execute will of Thomas Axtell of Grafton.
