"Thomas Allen (3): son of Samuel (2); Samuel, Sr. (1); b. 1681. He died, July 28, 1754, aged 73. He had no children. He gave a good estate by will to his Allen relatives, including 444 dollars to educate at college, Thomas Allen, son of his nephew, Joseph Allen. This was afterward Rev. Thomas Allen of Pittsfield. He gave also, 22 dollars to spread the gospel among the Indians of Massachusetts. He gave to the two children of his late wife, eight pounds each, viz. to Mary Stebbins, wife of Joseph Stebbins of Northfield; and Ebenezer Williams of Amherst."

  3. Trumbull has Thomas Allen with a first wife, Thankful, who died 14 Oct. 1711. Jacobus, in Hale, House indicates that the Thankful Allen who died on that date was Thomas Allen's older, unmarried sister. The Northampton Vital Records do not indicate a husband for the Thankful who died on that date, so we follow Jacobus rather than Trumbull.
