Virtually nothing is known about Theresa. She is named with her husband Charles on the baptism of her son Joseph in 1867 at Sidlesham in Sussex, England, although it seems he was about nine years old by then. Joseph consistently gave his place of birth as Baghdad or Turkey. Whilst Charles and Joseph both moved to England by the late 1860s, no trace has yet been found of Theresa having come to England.

1.   Theresa almost certainly was not the Theresa Grant who died aged 33 in the Portsmouth area in 1867: she appears in the 1861 census and was obviously having children in Portsmouth in the late 1850s, not living in Baghdad.
