Mrs. Emma Whestone of Arcadia, widow of the late John Whetstone, died Friday morning at 5:10 o'clock at her home in Arcadia, death being due to a complication of ailments, Mrs. Whetsone had been in failing healthy for the past two years, but for the past four weeks had been confided to her bed most of the time, just being able to be up a part of the time. Mrs. Whetstone, who was daughter of Parker and Mary Scott, was born in Rush county June 12, 1859, moved with her parents to Hamilton county when a young girl, spent her life there. Married to John Whetstone in 1874 and they made their home on what is still known as Whetstone homestead north of Arcadia until about seven years ago then they left the farm and moved to Arcadia. Mr. Whetstone died four years ago and since his death, a son John Whetstone was caring for Emma. Besides this son, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Anna Regan, wife of Dr. L.M. Reagan of Kokomo and four granddaughters, Mrs. Lyndall Allman, wife of Richard Allman of Riverside, California, Mrs. Lavonne Allman, wife of Harold Allman, and Mrs. Jean Wood, wife of Dr. W.B. Wood, both of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Pauline Alley, wife of Howard Alley of Huntington. Mrs. Allman, Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Alley are daughters of a daughter, Mrs. Myers, who is deceased. Mrs. Whetstone is survived by one sister, Mrs. Francis Fox of Elkin.
