Ted Vander Ploeg, 56, of Sioux Center died unexpectedly March 16 at his home. Services were held March 18 at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. The Rev. Dr. Thurman Rynbrandt officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home.

Mr. Vander Ploeg was born Dec. 20, 1914 in Sioux Center. He married Gertrude Stegenga Aug. 19, 1955 in Rock Valley. He farmed in the area. He served on the Sioux Center Hospital Board and was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Survivors include a son, Mark, of Grandview, Mo.; a daughter, Miss Carol Vander Ploeg of Osage; three brothers, Lawrence of Denver, Donald of Sioux Center and the Rev. Elmer of Wicher, Ill.; a sister. Miss Theresa Vander Ploeg of Sioux Center.
