1852: Mother travels to United States with children

  • On 30 Jan 1852, Theresia (40) arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana with children Agatha (16), Caroline (13), Franz (12) and Thekla (9). They came aboard the Ship Sharon which had departed from Le Havre, France2. There were other friends and relatives from their village aboard that ship as well, including Johann Ayd (52), Theresia Anselman (22), and Joseph Reiling (20), who who would eventually marry Agatha.
