    "Thankful Alexander, … born there, 9 Jan. 1691 /2 [29 March 1691 - a different Thankful A. was born at Northampton 9 January 1693/94], died after 1749, perhaps after 1765, daughter of John and Sarah (Gaylord) Alexander; … On 2 Aug. 1737, Gideon Hale, stone-cutter, and wife Thankful, of Northampton, sold to James Stephens of the same, land that did belong to John Alexander, father of Thankful Hale.b Thankful Hale was warned to depart out of Northampton, 10 Mar. 1741/2. Thankful Hale sued for divorce, 30 Aug. 1745, stating that Gideon was formerly of Middletown, Conn., now of Hartford, and that he had fulfilled the marriage Covenant until five years ago. … The will of Thankful's childless brother, John Alexander, 13 Jan. 1748/9, named his sister 'Thankful Hale alias Thankful Alexander.' A Thankful Hale was warned out of Granville, Mass., 14 Mar. 1765, but may not be this Thankful."
