Tena Jasperse SHELDON, Iowa - Tena Jasperse, 94, of Sheldon died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at Oak Park Care Center in Sheldon. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon, with the Rev. Neil Jasperse and the Rev. John Vermeer officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley, Iowa.

Mrs. Jasperse was born June 13, 1903, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Frances Wartena Bajema. She attended christian schools in Rock Valley and later Calvin College.

She taught school in Rock Valley, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Western Springs, Ill.

She married Cornelius Jasperse on June 29, 1964, in Sheldon, Iowa. The couple lived in Sheboygan, Wis., until July of 1983, when they moved to Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls, Wis. He died Oct. 20, 1984, in Sheboygan. In April 1985 she moved to Oak Park Care Center.

She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and the Golden Hour Circle of the church.

Survivors include three stepsons and their wives, George and Nancy Jasperse of Grand Rapids, Mich., Glenn and Patty Jasperse of Sheboygan, Wis., and Lloyd and Nella Jasperse of Granite Bay, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Barbara Tuinstra of Dallas, Texas; 17 stepgrandchildren; and 30 stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, the Rev. William Bajema, John Bajema, the Rev. Dr. Jacob Bajema, Barney Bajema and Dick Bajema, and three sisters, Alice De Bruyn, Agnes Bajema and Bertha Vaandrager.
