Per James' first wife's record at Find A Grave, James married "Tempy" on 31 May 1848, two months after his first wife passed. He had six children at the time.

Temple and James' son Evan was interviewed and the transcript is preserved by the Library of Congress.

James' bible is apparently available with a transcription in the archives of the Gilcrease Museum of Tulsa, OK.
