Symon de Hogeston

  • I. Simon de Hogeston (1224-1240).
He died before 1240. From this family seated in the lands of Hogeston in Morayshire sprang all that bare the name Ogston. Simon appears in a deed settling a controversy between himself and Andrew de Moravia, Bishop of Moray, concerning some portion of the lands of Hogeston, ceded for the sake of peace and in pure and perpetual alms on behalf of his father and mother, and all his ancestors, showing that the family existed anterior to this date.
