In his will of August 23, 1769, which was probated December 13, 1770, Young Stokes left the following family - his widow, Elizabeth Stokes, and the following children: Henry Stokes, who was given land at the head of Tusekiah Creek; Cecelia Stokes; Silvanus Stokes; Allen Stokes; William Stokes; Susannah Christopher, wife of Jacobus; Mary Ann Neal; Lucy Anderson; and Elizabeth Blagrave.
