HOW, Susanna, bap. June 27, 1802. Adopted by Timothy Biglow. CR1
- ↑ This is a speculative identification, but the pieces fit and nothing has been found to refute it. Of course, nothing appears to be discussed about it in the Bigelow Genealogy.
The baptism shows Susannah was adopted by Timothy Bigelow, but his will in 1817 calls her a granddaughter, not daughter or adopted daughter. This suggests she is an illegitimate child of one of his daughters. Since all other daughters are otherwise married at the time of Susannah's birth, and none is known to have married a Mr. Howe, the process of elimination suggests her mother was Levina/Lovina Bigelow. This is further strengthened by the fact that they lived together from at least 1850 through 1860, and probably until Levina's death in 1863.
Susan married Abraham Williams in 1822, they had a son William in 1824, and Abraham died in 1825 aged only 31. William Williams, then age 25, is the household where Susan and Levina are living in 1850.
