On Page 200, Susanna Post is the name attributed to Amos Smith's wife. However on page 202, his wives names are given as firstly Susannah (mother of four) and secondly Rachel Post (mother of three sons). Furthermore on page 202, the birth and death dates shown for this Rachel are exactly the same as a Rachel Bassett who married an Aaron (sometimes reported as Amos) Smith who died and was buried in Addison Vermont (Death: 20 SEP 1826 Addison, Addison, Vermont ).

Some of us think that Amos Smith married Abigail Post (not Rachel Post or Susannah Post), the daughter of Jordan Post whose house he lived in in Shoreham (Addison) Vermont in 1795. Both Jordan and Amos emigrated to Canada about the same time with their families eventually joining them. The naming sequence of one Amos' children ( who married a Scotsman who was strict about using the naming sequence) indicates that her parents were named Amos and Abigail. Other children attributed to Amos included the name of Abigail and Amos in their children's names.
