KEITH, Susanna, d. of James and Comfort, [born] Mar. 5, 1726-7. [See note.]
↑ 3.03.1 No death record is found for Susanna in either Mendon or Uxbridge. The coincidence of having two daughters named Susanna both born on March 5 seems unlikely enough to suppose that one of these records is simply a misrecording of the same event. Since Mendon records show the birth of sister Rachel 15 Apr 1728 (Uxbridge records giving 4 Apr 1728), it would seem the 5 Mar 1726/7 birth recorded in Uxbridge, while possible, is untypically close to Rachel's birth, and combined with the Mendon record in 1725, it is most likely that Susanna was born 5 Mar 1725/26 and the Uxbridge record was either misrecorded or misinterpreted. 1725/26 puts Susanna not quite 3 years after Noah, but a little over two years before Rachel. For comparison, Source:Keith, Laurence A. Keith : Collected Genealogies of Keith, Keath and Keeth Families in North America, p. 54, shows only one daughter Susanna, but uses the 5 Mar 1727 date as recorded in Uxbridge (apparently ignoring the Mendon record), which leaves an almost 4 year gap before Susanna, but only 13 months after.
