1900 census lists Iona's mother as Susanna

Census data for Susanna indicates her birthplace was Indiana and her parents were NOT born in Ohio. This is inconsistent with the info I have collected for the John P. Hedges and Susanna Miller who apparently lived in Ohio.

    Doubtful this is her age. If she was b. in 1841-1842 she would only have been 8 or 9 in 1850. Since her mother Susanna (Miller) Hedges was alive, she should have been living with her mother and she was not! Her widowed mother was living with her daughter Nancy Ashbrook in Fairfield County, Ohio, in 1850.
