  3. It is almost impossible to figure out who Susan is by referring to Source:Chamberlain, George Walter. History of Weymouth, Massachusetts. Instead one must ignore Chamberlain and look at the primary records, then the holes and errors in Chamberlain's presentation become apparent. Under Loud (p. 3:380), Chamberlain says Susan had some real estate distributed in 1861. The probate file referred to actually belonged to Warren's first wife Sarah (Torrey) Loud, not to Susan (Pratt) (Bates) Loud, so all the recipients are her relatives, not Susan's. Susan actually did have a will but Chamberlain did not mention it. Chamberlain says Susan is the daughter of Jonathan Pratt of Braintree, a fact documented in her marriage record, but her death record says her father Jonathan was born in Weymouth, so should be mentioned by Chamberlain. Under Pratt (p. 4:519), Jonathan Pratt m. 1767 Sarah Dyer but has a daughter Susan who m. Thomas Cook. The father of the Susan of this page is the son Jonathan, about whom Chamberlain gives no further information than his existence in this family, but whom Weymouth VRs show publishing his intentions to marry Sarah Cook of Quincy in 1793.
