    1775 'Susanna Butt, Widow, of the parish of Winterbourn-Whitchurch, was buried February 17th. Affidavit of her Burial in Woolen only was made before the Revd Bartholomew.'

    The affidavit is in compliance with the Wool Act of 1667 (repealed in 1814) which required that everyone was buried in woolen clothing with a woolen coffin lining.
