    WEBSTER, Submit, [d. Josiah & Hannah], b. Nov. 11, 1739

  2.   The 4th child & first daughter of Noah & Katherine Webster was Submit, born in Lebanon about 1735. She married in 1755, to Joshua Carpenter, son of Amos Carpenter. There is a Carpenter Genealogy with more details.
    (Note: The Carpenter Genealogy gives no parents for Submit. The Webster Genealogy appears to have identified her parents incorrectly as the only birth record for Submit Webster was for the daughter of Josiah & Hannah Hutchinson.)

    The children of Submit & Joshua Carpenter are Catharine b.1757 prob.d.in infancy; Deborah b.1758 m.Thos. Hancock in 1775 & settled in Somersworth, NH.; Joshua Augustus, b.1763; Amos b.1765; Roger, b.1767; John b.1769; Frederick b.1771 m.Diana Heath and lived in Charlestown, MA.; Catharine b.1774; Benjamin b.? was killed at Braxton, VA in an Indian War; Jeremiah b.? was captured by the Indians when a lad and compelled to run the gauntlet, but escaped unharmed except the loss of one eye.
