Vital Records, 1760-1954, here gives the death date of "Submit Smead" in Weybridge (where Nim Smead died in 1813) as "--- -- 1837", age 77-78, so born about 1759-1760, which aligns very well with known birthdate. The posted death date of 16 Feb 1837 was posted with no source, and its basis is unknown (and its credibility hurt by its accompanying birth date of 1753 which has been erased), but is for the same year.
A Find A Grave memorial with no gravestone image cites Source:Weybridge, Addison, Vermont, United States. Vital Records, 1755-1910, which on p. 78 says Nim Smead ... "Submit Scott, his wife, 26. Jan. 1759 - 12 June 1789, m. 23 Oct 1783, dau. of Elisha Scott, ...". It should be noted that this source is a compilation from many sources, including "notes", i.e., not everything is from primary sources. No such death record is found, and the death date is almost certainly wrong as births are recorded to Nim and wife Submit Scott after this date (i.e., Electa in 1791, Rufus in 1794, Submit in 1796).
