"Stephen3 Chalker {Samuel2, Alexander1) was born September 11, 1677, at Saybrook, and died June 2, 1727, probably at that place. He married, either at Saybrook or East Haddam, June 3, 1703, Elizabeth3 Chapman. He made his home at Saybrook as his father and grandfather had done.
On April 8, 1712, after the death of his father-in-law, Capt. John2 Chapman, an agreement between the heirs as to the division of the estate was recorded at Hartford showing that Stephen3 had signed for his wife. The estate of Lydia3 Chapman, unmarried sister of Elizabeth (Chapman) Chalker, inventoried at over £414, was admitted to probate on August 1, 1738. The heirs signed an agreement of distribution on November 7, following, in which they referred to their 'sister Elizabeth Chalker, late of Saybrook decd.," giving her share to her children."
