Private, Co. B 15th Va.Inf. CSA. Enlisted 5//14/1861 age 18. Captured at Five Forks 4/1/1865 and confined at Pt.Lookout, Md. where he took the Oath of Alligiance 6/15/1865.Employed in the grocery and commisions business after the war.Compiled and edited the "History of Henrico Parish and St. John's Church." Below is a small part of a letter written by Private Moore while serving his country.

"My Dear Mother, I feel sad and gloomy tonight. After a struggle unparalleled in the history of the world, after the shedding of so much blood, we can see no prospect of peace. The soil of Virginia has been baptized in blood, and almost every foot of ground from the Potomac to the Chickahominy is sacred, rendered so by deeds of heroism of Virginians and the sons of her sister states".
