Spicer Green was born in Rensselaer Co., N. Y., Oct. 19, 1806, and died at Adams Centre, Sept. 19, 1887.
In early life he made a public profession of religion and became a member of the Seventh-day Baptist Church. Removing to Adams Centre, he joined the Adams Church in 1852, where his membership remained till death. His first wife, Harriet Maxson, died some twenty years ago. His second wife was a sister of Eld. Halsey Baker, and at the time of their marriage, the widow of Barton Whitford. She also survives him.
Bro. Greene was a man of devotional nature and in his day much interested and quite active in church and denominational affairs. For some years he had been in poor health and was nearly blind, so that he was deprived of many of the activities of life. "The righteous hath hope in his death." His faith was unswerving to the last.
