It is not certain that he was the son of Tor Erikstein, or that Knut Erikstein was his son.

   'I 1591 og 93 heitte bonden på Nordigard Solve. Han var ein av dei som skreiv under fullmakta for utsendingane frå Bø til kongehyllinga i 1591, og var derfor sikkert ein framståande mann i bygda.'
   
   translation: In 1591 and 93, the farmer at Nordigard was called Solve. He was one of those who wrote the authorization before the dispatch from Bø to the paying of homage to the king in 1591, and was therefore certainly a prominent man in the village.
