    DIED
    SWARTZ.--Sunday, June 19, 1892, at his home near Salem, Simon Swartz, aged 90 years.
    Mr. Swartz was born in Delaware county, N.Y., and emigrated to Oregon from Chicago in 1850, since which time he has lived on the place where he died. The funeral will be held Tuesday at the home of his son, R. L. Swartz, and the body will be interred at Odd Fellows' cemetery. Mr. Swartz was a good citizen, and had many friends among the old settlers.

    The old pioneer Simon Swartz is in town. He crossed the plains in 1850, and settled four miles east of Salem where he now lives. He is 85 years old, but walked into town to-day.
