My Cokonougher (Cochenour) line married into two different Shoemaker lines from OH. First, two sisters married sons of Simon Shoemaker and Elizabeth Kneisley: Ruhama married Michael Shoemaker, b. 1823 Highland Co., OH on Mar. 7, 1848 in Adams Co., OH.; Caroline married Reuben Shoemaker b. ca 1833 Highland Co., OH in 1854 in Adams Co., OH. A brother, Addison Elsworth married Elizabeth Shoemaker, b. Oct. 29, 1820 Adams Co., OH on Feb. 3, 1848 in Adams Co., OH. I have never been able to locate the parents of Elizabeth. This information passed on to me by an immediate relative who has since passed away. Not sure where she got her information. This is what she gave me on Simon's children: Abraham ca 1816, David ca 1820, Mary M. ca 1822, Michael Mar. 14, 1823, Joseph ca 1828, Addison ca 1829, Reuben 1833, Catherine ca 1835, Seth ca 1836, Ann ca 1837, and Elizabeth ca 1838. Simon and Elizabeth are both buried in the Old Dutch Cemetery, Brushcreek, Highland Co., OH.
