(Fairfield) 15 Aug. 1697, d. 10 Apr. 1770 ae. 72 yrs. 9 mos. 13 days (g. s., Westport), prob. misreading for 19 Apr., as given by Church record; Ens., west parish, Fairfield, Oct. 1733; Capt., May 1735; m. 18 May 1721, Abigail Jennings, dau. of Joshua, b. 16 Feb. 1700 (by age at death), d. 14 July 1765 ae. 65 yrs. 4 mos. 15 days (g. s.). His will, 17 Mar. 1770, proved 21 Apr. 1770, freed two slaves, and gave residue to his nephew and adopted son Simon Couch of Redding."
