    Elder Simeon Brown came from Stonington, CT in 1791 where he married Ruth York. He organized the 1st Baptist Church in Brookfield and for thirty years was its pastor.
    His children were: Simeon Brown, Justus Brown, Stephen Brown, Dr. Clift Brown, Ruth Brown, Polly Brown, Thankful Brown wife of Thomas Griffin, Lucretia Brown wife of Joshua Breed, Phebe Brown wife of Nathan Baldwin. Of these children, Simeon, Polly and Thankful were married before they came to Brookfield
