11 Aug 1833: Administration on Simeon Briggs of Barre granted to Arad Smith of Barre, the widow declining. 21st Sep 1833: Inventory of Simeon Briggs late of Barre deceased: $78, by John Thwing and Benjamin Wood. On petition of Betsey Briggs widow, whole amount assigned to her except $10 to cover costs.
- ↑ The connection of the son of Nathaniel to the man who married Betsey Smith is somewhat speculative, but based on the following: match of age at death to birth, nearness of birth location to residence when married (less than 20 miles) especially given orphan status, and ruling out of other candidates.
