Estill County Court Records, Page 520 is the following account. On June 27, 1856, Robert Herd, Barnett Sparks, Silas Gray and Nancy Crawford committed assault on Joseph Crawford by cutting and stabbing him with intent to kill on 28 July 1856. Joseph Crawford was Nancy Gray Crawford husband marrying in 1829 Estill Co. Nancy divorced Joseph in 1856 for "creulty". [Note: Silas Gray was Nancy [Gray] Crawford's brother]
"Circuit Court Records of Estill Co.KY 1824-1908" - 22 Sept. 1836 David Snowden Vs James McGuire chancery, on 27 April 1825, that James McGuire and Jacob Miller entered in writing that on 20 May 1826, Jacob Miller sold to Snowden a tract of 12 acres that Miller was entitled to under the agreement, the bounds was well known by James McGuire that Jacob Miller died leaving these heirs, Jacob Miller Jr., John Miller, George Miller, the children and heirs of Mary "Polly" Gray who was the daughter of Jacob Miller, towit.
