[edit] Online Obituary89, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, May 11, 2018, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover. A daughter of the late Fred and Hazel Rausch Gribble, Shirley was born at Dover on March 12, 1929. Shortly following her birth, Shirley's mother died and she and her brother were raised by their maternal grandparents, Laura and Fred Rausch. She was a graduate of the former Midvale High School and an active and long-time member of the Uhrichsville First Christian Church. Shirley was known for her love of baking and cooking and loved making cookies, pies and cakes for any occasion. For nearly 15 years, Shirley was employed by Buckeye Career Center, where she worked in the cafeteria. She will be missed by a son, Fred (Trudy) Sullivan of New Philadelphia; a daughter, Susan (Todd) Tinker of Dallas, Georgia; and a brother, Jim Gribble of Coshocton; four grandchildren: Lori (Rob) Henning of New Philadelphia, Ellie (Glenn) Wentz of Greer, South Carolina, Ashley Tinker of Acworth, Georgia and Catie Tinker of Dallas, Georgia; four great-grandchildren: Nick and Vinnie Henning, and Ethan and Juliana Wentz complete the family. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Sullivan; and a son, James E. Sullivan. The family will greet guests on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Gordon Furbay will lead a service celebrating Shirley's life in the funeral home's chapel on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following services, a meal and fellowship will be held in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Shirley's name may be directed to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue S.W., New Philadelphia or Uhrichsville First Christian Church, P.O. Box 389, Uhrichsville, Ohio 44683.
