    [Note: there is a second death date for Seth, 10 Jun 1829, a. 52. Note that 52nd year would fit the 1832 date, but the 1829 date suggests it is a different person. However, no other Seth Nichols is seen in the records. The gravestone pictured at Find A Grave is unreadable. Franklin probate 3431 is for Seth Nichols, appointing a guardian in 1824, he being ruled a spendthrift due to excessive drinking. Nothing in the file tells if he is Philena's husband though one expense refers to "the family".]
