DIED
In New-York, on his way to Charleston, S. C. on Tuesday last, suddenly of bilious colic, Mr. Seth L. Cowing, in the 38th year of his age. - Mr. Cowing, through life, enjoyed the reputation of a correct and intelligent merchant, a gentle man of spotless character. For many years he resided in Charleston, S. C. where, from close attention to business, he suffered many inroads upon his constitution, which, some years since, induced him to visit France, Italy and Switzerland, where, after a residence of three years, he recovered his health. Mr. C. was a gentleman in every sense of the word, and few have descended to the tomb more universally regretted. His remains were removed to this town, and interred on Thursday afternoon.
