Sudden Stroke Caused Death
Aged Lady of Near Newstead victim of Paralytic Stroke
Mrs. Sarah Usher Proctor died Monday night at the home of Mr. T. G. Gaines near Newstead. She was stricken with paralysis last Saturday and death resulted in about two days. Mrs. Proctor was about 80 years old. She had been a member of the Presbyterian Church for many years and was a devoted christian whose influence for good was felt by all who knew her.
Four sisters, Mrs. B. B. Nance, Mrs. T. G. Gaines, and Miss Mary Usher, all of this county and Mrs. Rufus Scott of Monmouth, Illinois, survive. Her funeral services were held yesterday morning at 10'clock at the Newstead Presbyterian Church by Rev. J. C. Tate, and the interment took place in the family burying ground.
