Sara Hooks, originally of Union City, Indiana, the loving wife of Mr. Robert R. Hooks of Atlanta, Georgia, passed on to her eternal reward with her God on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.
Sara is survived by her son David T. Hooks of Columbia, PA, his wife Carol and his children, Sara Kristen Hooks and Jordan Teaford Hooks also of Columbia.
Sara was born on February 22, 1916 in Union City, Indiana to Mr. Joel E. & Mrs. Rose Teaford. She was one of 11 children and the last member of her family to pass on. Sara graduated from Union City High School in 1934. After the war, Sara enrolled in Sinclair Business College in Dayton, Ohio graduating in two years and becoming a jewelry buyer at Rike's Department Store in Dayton. While working at Rike's she met Robert R. Hooks and they were married in March of 1951. Their son David was born five years later on December 25, 1956. The couple lived in Dayton for over fifty years. Sara's husband Robert Hooks passed away in February of 1982. Sara moved to Columbia PA, in 2005 and has resided at the St. John Herr Estate retirement home since.
Sara will be remembered by her family and friends as a wonderful loving mother and friend. She faithfully served her Lord all of her life and is now truly "at home". We miss you and will always love you Mom (Nanny).
